What is Japanese Knotweed?
Japanese Knotweed (Fallopia japonica) is a highly invasive plant which was introduced to this country as a quick-growing ornamental plant. It has now become a well documented problem.
Our main course of action for the eradication and removal of Japanese Knotweed is the stem injection method, where a measured dose of glyphosate is injected directly into the plant. There are several advantages to this technique:
- Target specific;
- No herbicide damage to the surrounding area;
- Very effective;
- No spray drift;
- Also effective against Giant Hogweed.
This year we are undertaking a Knotweed eradication and disposal project on behalf of the Norfolk Broads Authority.
